Sven Reichhardt discusses the use of modernity as an analytical tool for 80s punk mvmts. Looking for the "uncanny"? Performing masculinity. He asks about the relation to everyday life (i.e. negotiations on living projects) with concepts/counterculture.

Many (possibly biographic) links between youth/punk mvmts and squatters turned-into-cooperatists, even if the latter were close to less alternative lifestyles. It was rather the 1920-30s than the 19th century which served as a model for housing cooperatives.
